[Justin and Tarr are both talking to Jin more than one another. And Tarr is the one who knows about this shit, he's the one Jin should be paying attention to. But he keeps giving Justin's words just as much weight when he replies.

He shouldn't give that much of a damn about what Justin has to say. Justin just wants to kill the thing that took his human.

He wonders idly if that warning about recoil is for him as much as Jin. Is he going to be expected to take care of... No, surely not. Tarr's the co-bloodsucker, and his boyfriend is the maternal type. They're the ones best suited to look after Jin, not him.

Justin glances around the area as though keeping a look-out, not because it both bothers him to see Tarr touch his human, and makes him feel ill to think of touching Jin now that he's a vampire at the same time.]

You should be able to adjust easier then most. Some of your hunter training will help.

[He glanced over at Justin and wondered a little if he would act the same way if someone really managed to get past all the wards and traps Dusty had around him. Would he get mad and then leave what remained of Dusty behind or would he still try to make things work? He knew that he cared enough that if he could, he would offer his human something other than death when the time came.

And that thought was a scary one. His most vulnerable point in all of his life being the little mage he had bonded to. No wonder the old dragon chuckled when the subject came up.]

I am going to bite you in order to get a taste of it. Try not to hit me.

[He leaned down, gripping Jin's wrist to hold his hand steady. The pack had been various bloods, none of them from any one individual. Most likely, they had been outcasts or strays pushed together by a strong brood leader that just needed some fodder.]

[Jin nods, holding his arm out straight now as best he could, keeping his eyes shut. If he ended up looking while Tarr was trying to get a lock on whoever his maker was, that would probably end with him either ripping open his wrist to get away or lash out.

In all honesty, he's surprised that Justin had at least given enough of a shit to get angry about his predicament.]

[I am going to bite you-

Justin balls up his hands into fists and tries to physically shake off the feeling of possessiveness. He doesn't want a vampire anyway! And yet here he is, more likely to hit Tarr than Jin himself. He has to get some distance.]

I'll keep a look out. [After all, he's got the best skill set for distracting any wandering humans.] Tell me when you're done.

[And with that he takes a short walk away, flopping back against a tree trunk once he's out of sight. Perfectly balanced existence, ruined!]

[That was unexpected. Tarr blinked looking over at the incubus as he walked away. He was upset? Still possessive? Normally once the life force was gone they didn't care what happened to their victims. He huffed and turned back to the matter at hand.

Keeping Jin's hand steady, he let his secondary teeth drop and closed his lips ove the tips of his fingers. The sharp prick of his teeth would almost seem like that of a kitten's bite or of a blood sample being taken. Tarr was long past needing making large holes in anyone he bites. For this, all he needed was that taste, and he quickly pulled away, letting Jin go and sitting on his haunches while sorting through the flavors. There was Jin, muted but still him, the two he had for spüre, and there was...

Tarr's eyes snapped open and he chuckled softly, unpleasantly.]

I know this one.

[He's just as surprised as Tarr is about Justin suddenly deciding to duck out, even if it is to act as a lookout. Not that he could really say anything, since he was too focused on making sure he didn't suddenly jerk around as Tarr bit into him.

It's nowhere near as bad as he was dreading, but still incredibly uncomfortable knowing who - and what - had nipped his fingers. Once the elder was done, he lets out a breath and stares at his hand for a moment before his gaze flickers over.]

I don't like the way that sounded.

Small-minded leader that had once been low-range member of a gang. Has been trying to create a 'proper' vampire empire but ends up being stupid by trying to move on older brood territories. Had even tried to take me on once.

[It had been an annoying attack and Tarr was lenient on him, only killing a few of those sent after him and then walking into the guy's sitting room to tell him how much stupid that had been. Tarr pinned him and the rest of his gang by sheer will and told him to knock it off before walking out, and hadn't heard anything from the character since.]

What a stupid move to go after you.

[He has to bite back a laugh at that himself. For him that sounded almost typical for what he would deal with as targets.]

Sounds like he would've been on my shit list even beyond... this.

[He rubs at his face for a moment, trying to keep a growl from emerging.]

What kind of recoil are we talking once he's dead?

[Yeah, Justin has been listening, so what? It's a quiet area, he has keener senses than a human, and he just didn't want to see his human getting fanged, that's all! He's already approaching Jin and Tarr again as they begin to talk.

He's no vampire expert, but he suspects he knows what sort of recoil there's going to be. He looks directly at Tarr for the first time.]

You're gonna take responsibility for him now, right? You're the fellow jugular-junkie. And your human's used to the likes of you, not to mention seems to have a thing for taking care of... anything. [People, vampires, whatever.]

[He glance up at Justin, his eyes going from the murky red to a more normal deep brown that was almost black. There was a moment of him snorting and then he was standing, hands in his pockets as he thinks about how to explain it. It has been centuries since he had felt his own maker die but it still was one of the strongest sensation he had felt outside of getting burned by the sun.]

His type do tend to end up taken down by a hunter group. [Hence why he didn't bother to kill the idiot. He would give the hunters something to do before ending up dead.] It would feel like someone is trying to stretch out your soul, every cell of your body screaming in pain, and then it all snaps back into you. I think the closest human experience would be having hot oil poured down your throat followed by ice.

[And he faces the incubus directly, eyebrows raised slightly before a tiny smile curved his lips. Was he trying to hide the slight possessiveness Justin felt over Jin? That was almost cute as his human would say.] Do you really think I would leave a newborn without guidance? My human doesn't like seeing anyone or thing suffer, which is why he mother hens even you.

[Jin has to fall silent at that, surprisingly quiet. Though thinking about something as serious as this would tend to humble most people, really. He'd already technically died once (and he sure as hell wouldn't recommend the experience), but it wasn't nearly to the degree that Tarr was describing - he wasn't a complete idiot, unlike what the two of them would like to say.

After a moment, though, he runs a hand through his hair.]

Great. As if things couldn't get any more ridiculous. If Dusty actually tries to make me call him 'mom' after all this I'm going to smack him, fair warning.

Would've been far less painful, and way more enjoyable if you'd just let me fuck the life right out of you.

[Justin smiles a little too brightly, showing too many teeth. It's not like they knew this was coming, not like Justin had been planning to kill Jin any time soon. But an attempt at humour is better than anything else he can think to say right now.

...And the idea of Jin playing happy families with his fang-brother and fake mom isn't as reassuring as being relieved of the responsibility to his former human should be.]

Oh, as if that wouldn't happen eventually between you.

[He knew what incubus did to those they fed on for a long time. The only reason why Young-chul was still living was because he was a powerful mage and knew how to protect himself from the draining effect to a point. It still didn't mean that Dusty wasn't trying to mother hen the silly earth mage whenever he let it go too long.]

He'll smack you back, but I doubt he would make you do anything. Without a maker, you will be under no one's control, and usually fair game to anyone that wished to cull the ranks. We are weak until we gain age.

[Tarr would just shake his head at Justin but instead he starts to head for the direction of the blood pull.] He'll also insist that Justin sticks around. You two are still tied to each other, though not on the level as before.

I knew what was going to eventually happen.

[He gives Tarr a slightly annoyed look. Despite the dumb decision that it was and everything that led up to it, he at least was more than aware of what would happen down the road. It wasn't like he could really take it back.]

I figured. Fucking hell...

[Not exactly how he imagined things going. Though at the vampire's last statement, Jin immediately snaps to full attention, almost sputtering.]

What?!

[Justin's not impressed by Tarr's assertion that they're still tied to one another either.]

That's bull! Once my prey is dead there's nothing to bind them to me. I only need them for their life-force!

[Sure you already knew this stuff, Jin, but are you getting pissed off hearing it straight from Justin's mouth? Discarding you so easily...]

[He was more confused than anything, though now he's even more confused that there's a twinge of anger that coils in the pit of his stomach when Justin pipes up. His hands clench into fists, and he spins around to face the incubus, eyes narrowed.]

You can't even fucking talk! If you're so flippant about it and don't care as much as you want to say you don't, then why the hell are you even here?! Why do you want revenge against a vamp so badly even though you know full well it's not going to change what I've become? I don't like this turn of events either, sweetheart, but it's not like we can take it back now!

[Excuse you, Jin! Think you know it all.]

It's nothing to do with changing what you are now! You were my human! My meal! This is why I dislike vampires in the first place, always stealing my meals! I want revenge for myself. Don't get the wrong idea just because I came to find you!

I would've wanted to find out what happened to any human I was fucking.

[Considering that he's surprisingly been in semi-healthy relationships before, yes. Yes he does at least know more things than Justin in some aspects.

Jin has to actually let out a harsh laugh at that one.]

Like hell I'll believe that - you can pick anyone you wanted, checking up on your humans means you have an attachment to them. And I don't mean just to their life-force.

[He knows that he's probably - no, probably nothing, he is - treading dangerous territory here, and that if this turned physical, he probably wouldn't stand much of a chance, especially since he's cut off from his spiritual powers now that he's undead, but at the same time, this felt like it was a long time coming.

He doesn't even realize that his fangs are running out again as he's arguing.]

I was your human. And yet you're still sticking around, even beyond "wanting revenge for yourself". It's -

[He cuts himself off with a growl. What did all this really mean?]

[Tarr has a soft voice, unusually high and sweet for someone with his build and almost threatening resting face. But now there was a growl to it, his secondary teeth showing that was beyond the usual vampire fangs. He was old, old enough that he could probably take on a demon and, if not win at least survive. He jabbed a hand at Justin.]

Just by arguing you are showing there is something there. You don't have to do anything but having you along will help. [He turned on Jin, eyes black.] You need to calm down. The maker bond goes both ways and if he was checking, he'll read what you're feeling too easily.

Also, all I meant was that I tasted you in Jin's blood. Though... yes, vampires are dead. We don't need to breathe, have heartbeats, shit or piss. But we can still cry and we certainly have sex. There's a life there, but one of magic and of our wills. Stronger our wills for life, the stronger we are, but it's nothing that can be drained from us.

As for you wishing revenge, you do know you can call up the marked laws in front of and elder and ask for blood, yes?

[You know what? Justin's going to snarl and shut up, but only because it's preferable to trying to argue this shit out any further with Jin. Yes he can pick any human he wants to drain life-force from, but they either have to die immediately, or they plead with him for more sex until they get it so much they die! And being pestered is a bother. Jin already being a hunter and already knowing things like him were out there had worked out great; Young-chul had been able to regenerate Jin's life-force the same way he did his own, and give Justin permanent, reliable meals.

Jin just wants it to mean something because he is - was - human and he was getting caught up in dumb human emotions.]

Fine, I'm not arguing then. Are you trying to say that it's fine because he'll still have a sex drive? [Justin mutters his last sentence.] What's the point if I don't get life-force out of it.

[It was about this point that Jin felt the urge to want to strangle Justin before Tarr cut them both off and reminded the former hunter about the maker bond. That got him to shut up immediately, though it's obvious he's trying his best to not show any more emotion, even if it is a bit late for that one.]

So what now.

[Though he can't deny the pang of ... something twisting in his gut. It's just something he'd have to sort out later, as much as he wouldn't want to.]

I'm saying that it might something interesting for someone long lived like you, but forget it. You just don't want to try something new.

[His tone was basically 'this isn't going to be an argument' because he knew how demons could be. They weren't ones that actually would change even if they were able to blend in the easiest among humans. Tarr turned away and walked to the end of the street, taking breathe she through his mouth to catch the scent he needed.]

We hunt, unless the demon would rather not go anywhere with bloodsuckers.

[Justin gives Tarr a flat look at the suggestion he won't want to go anywhere with bloodsuckers. He's right, but this is an exceptional circumstance.]

This one may have been a hunter but he won't be used to handling his new abilities yet. It'll be one-and-a-half against who knows how many if I don't come along.

[Not terribly different from a normal job, outside the fact that he now had vampire weaknesses and no access to his previous abilities or time to go back to his apartment - if it hadn't been cleaned out already.]

Right. So now it's just a matter of finding the bastard.

[Jin's eyes narrow slightly at the jab, and feeling his fangs still out, he bares them at Justin for a moment in a wicked grin.]

Come over here and find out.

[He looked over at Jin and his baby vampire teeth and almost cracks a smile. Though it does slightly worries him that Jin likes biting and Dusty likes it when he gets bit, but he trusts his human enough to know he wasn't going to attempt sleeping with a newborn. Maybe in a few years, but no, he didn't need to think of that scenario.]

Stop arguing until you're in a safe spot, children.

[He doesn't wait for a response, instead he starts flitting from shadow to shadow, moving slow enough so Jin could keep up, though after a street or two he takes to the rooftops. Once they were away from the poorer sections they needed to be careful of who sees them after all.]
