The shy smile touches on her lips once more as she holds back from responding just for this moment. She had caught his attention and that was the important thing. "What are you doing?" Kaito jerks his hand away instinctively, but not roughly enough to actually have it escape Mai's gentle hold. "I'm fine!"

He takes a good look at her, to try and discover just what the heck is going on in her head. He sees her warm, welcoming, eager eyes, and the faraway smile that says she's in a place that makes her happy and content.

That place is his bed, though! And she's initiating bodily contact in such a forward way.

Actually, Kaito has witnessed this sort of thing before; Zack is always at it.

"You're flirting with me," Kaito says, mocking tone evident in his voice. And he is tempted to open his mouth and tell Mai how ridiculous and stupid that is, but something stops him. And then his mouth is just slightly parted and his expression confused. Because he doesn't want to mock her.
