11. Separation → You were forced to leave this person for their own safety and while you've been miserable without them, you really didn't mean to run into them again... maybe it was by accident or you were watching them from afar this whole time.
12. Prison → You were very bad and now it's time to pay the price by turning yourself in or maybe the law just finally caught up to you.
13. Fear → You're not sure why, but you are suddenly terrified and you can't deal with it. You need help.

4. Costume party → You're at a costume party, both of you are wearing masks. Do you keep the anonymity or take it off and see whose company you've been enjoying?

6. Drunk → You're already drunk! Drunk dialing, stumbling into someone, showing up unexpected... what type of drunk are you anyway? Aggressive, loving, happy? How does the other react?
7. Rivals → you're suddenly rivals! Or maybe you have been all along...
8. Problems → you've got a problem with each other, just got in a huge fight, whatever. Try to work it out!
9. What are your intentions... → This person? They're dating a close friend, family member, etc. You need to find out if they're going to hurt them! Or you need to discuss your friend/family's dating choice.
10. I saw you → you saw the other person doing something bad and you need to confront them about it.
11. Sorry but no → the other person has feelings that you just don't share. They don't necessarily have to be romantic... maybe you just don't agree with their sudden desire to quit their job and start a business making tiny, fuzzy teddy bears.
12. Enabler → you're enabling the other (or each other) to do something bad, really bad. Addiction, stealing, killing, or just any other self-destructive behavior.
13. Cooking → Time for an impromptu cooking lesson!
14. Boss → One of you works under the other. Is your relationship good? Are you scheming things? Or do you hate each other?
15. Perfect crime → You and the other person have just pulled off the perfect crime... or you're planning to! What are you doing? The heist of the century, an assassination?

[The right anatomy? Micchi stifles another laugh - that's it, Philip has wormed it out of him now and the amusement won't stop lingering in his head. Everything is so amusing. Everything so obvious to Micchi that Philip just doesn't know.

Philip is off on another tangent though, about "LBGT". At least he's on the right track! Micchi decides to sit and wait on Philip, let him run away with thoughts until he has another question to ask Micchi.

He pulls out his phone to check his messages: plenty of people with the "wrong anatomy" who are panting over him to get a date. Oh Philip, so naive.]

[It may have been a good hour while Philip was flipping through books and browsing a few web pages in between. Every now and then he would glance over to Micchi, think for a moment and then go back to his book to research a bit more.

Micchi was being extraordinarily patient, not that Philip would really notice. He had to understand why he had just been asked out on a date and then he had to understand what this kind of date would entail.

Then finally...]

[There was a pause.]

[He was quite serious and his expression was of complete curiousity. Philip doesn't know how to joke about these things. There would definitely be less awkward conversations around him if he did.]

[Honestly Micchi had only come here to find Philip so they could go, but it's not like he can't amuse himself online while Philip does yet more research. Micchi could've left Philip to it, but this topic is too good to pass up.

He replies to some inappropriate messages he'd gotten on a dating site (it's fun to mess with people!) with scathing responses and the block button, and barely even notices the way he's being completely ignored in favour of books. Normally Micchi would not be happy about being so neglected. Or having to wait so long for an answer when he just asked someone on a date! But: Philip. Philip doesn't adhere to normal human rules.

Micchi can make him pay for it later. Wait til Philip learns about how great kissing feels.

Philip does surface eventually though. And Micchi is ready. Even the question isn't entirely unexpected, considering the subject matter. Of course Philip wants to know.]

I'm bisexual, I guess. I don't really put a label on it. [For Philip though, you kind of have to.] Into the same gender as me as well as different to me. Why be limited?

[Then there was the one topic that the books kind of brushed over. And the internet just added more confusion. He now flipped the books closed and stacked them up again as he rant a few thoughts through his head.

So, Micchi liked both. He asked Philip out on a date. The figures didn't quite add up as he didn't really understand Micchy's motive for doing that.

Philip also didn't quite know where he stood in this whole LGBT spectrum. Well, asides from the fact that he couldn't be an L.

And how do you tell which gender you would be into?

[Micchi tries not to slap his palm into his face. It's not a dumb question - not at all! Some people are confused for a long time about who they like, or even if they like people that way at all! It's far more complex than Philip is going to get from books. And this is all stuff Micchi needs to get across to him.]

Well, boys and girls liking one another is the common thing, so it's assumed to be the default - practically the only thing, as you're already aware. [Micchi looks pointedly at all the other books Philip had been referencing that clearly hadn't talked about alternate sexualities at all.] Most people just accept that they're going to like the opposite gender and that's it. Mmmm... [Philip is going to want specifics.] I guess it's things like your heart racing when you see someone, or getting nervous butterflies in your stomach. Or if it's a much more physical attraction than anything else then your dick will respond.

[Dear god, don't say Micchi is going to have to explain masturbation to Philip too. Not that he'd entirely mind...]

[Well that might be a problem. It's not that Philip is asexual or anything but he was a very special individual. If it's never gotten his attention in the past, it wasn't like his body was going to get his attention now. The boy has always been a lot more into books and information than anything physical.

That's not to say something wouldn't catch his attention but really, who in their right mind would try?

Although the last sentence did make him glance directly down at his crotch. The only response he's ever had from down there was when he had to go to the bathroom.

Or when he's woken up some mornings and...he shook that thought out of his head. It was weird and he didn't waste time thinking about it.]

Heart racing and nervous butterflies would be caused by adrenaline. Maybe a fear response to something nearby. Or an event due to happen. Like the way your friend acted during public speaking classes yesterday.

[Friend was a rather loose description. Philip noticed a lot of students wanted to be close to Micchi. Why he would come bother him out of all the students was still a mystery.]

What would a bisexual date entail?

The adrenaline would be a response to the person you liked being near you. Some people get nervous because they're not confident enough to talk to the one they like. Not everyone can just go up and ask people questions like you do, with no fear of the answer. Not everyone would just shrug it off if someone didn't like them.

[Philip has no sense of self-consciousness at all, and doesn't value himself based on what other people think of him. He's the opposite of the average teenager; of course Micchi finds him fascinating for that and wants to be around him! Philip is interesting. Fun things happen around him, even though he's oblivious to them all.

Like going on a "bisexual date". Micchi turns his smirk into a smile quickly.]

The same thing any date would entail. Your sexuality doesn't change anything except maybe the gentials involved. [And considering anyone could have any genitals that really is a 'maybe'.] Have you read up on 'dates'? [Surely Philip must have, in preparation after being asked out on one!]

[That answer confused Phillip for just one moment. There had to be some kind of importance to this. Although, until he experienced it himself, he wouldn't know if he would feel emotionally hurt if someone rejected him. He had to become attached to somebody first. That would also be a new experience.]

A date would be a social outing exclusively between two people. Some examples would be watching a movie, eating a meal or some other social activity that the pair would agree to. Traditionally the male party will pay. [There was a pause there as he tried to factor that into the new information.] Or if you are dutch, then each individual would pay themselves. Although, I have yet to discover why this is a specific custom to the Dutch.

[Time to stifle another chuckle.]

It's more slang, Philip. "Going Dutch" means splitting the cheque. Honestly I have no idea where it comes from or if it even has anything to do with the Dutch. Look it up. [Micchi doesn't actually mean look it up right now though, so- ] Later.

So, do you want to go on a social outing with just me? I don't let people take this long to decide usually.

[He had taken the invitation to turn around and open one of his books before the final part of the response caught his attention. Later. Right. Sometimes things got through to him.

There was a pause as Philip considered the question again and then decided that first hand experience was required for this topic and who better to provide this than someone who seemed well versed in this subject.]

Should I bring up the list of date locations or was there one that you default to?

[A date location he defaults to? Micchi shakes his head.]

Different people suit different dates. I wouldn't take you to a movie; you'd talk all the way through it, analysing the whole thing. We'd get thrown out. [And Philip wouldn't even find that funny; he'd probably lament not getting to see the end of the movie!

Dinner would probably be too distracting too; Philip might want to talk to the chef and discover how every course was made.]

Everything distracts you. What would you do to keep your attention solely focused on one other person?

[Now that's a smart way to deal with Philip; ask what he would do in any given situation. Use his logic to have him tame himself.]

[That's something he'd never considered before. What would be able to hold his attention? Nothing has really held his attention for long except researching information but...he had said solely focused on one other person.

Normally this would make him turn around and dive back into his books but something told him that this was a part of the question. A very small voice in the back of his mind reminded him of the little social construct that he had absorbed.

In his mind, this thought process only took a few seconds to reach but in reality he'd probably been sitting there for a good few moments while everything slowly clicked into place.]

I would have to go somewhere to learn information about that person.

[Yes, very aptly put.]

[ Welp. That's not really the sort of thing Micchi wants to hear, though of course it makes sense when it's Philip. What would help him focus on a person is learning all about them.

Micchi doesn't really want to make himself that vulnerable to Philip, but he can hide some stuff and still let there be enough around to let him analyse. Philip isn't the only one whose brains quickly jump into gear. Micchi tries to think what items in his room he might want to stash far away from Philip's prying. The logic helps his voice remain calm when he speaks.]

I guess you'd better come over to my house, then.

[It's not such a big deal when it's Philip; niisan won't disapprove because Philip is from the same private school. Philip already knows Micchi's family must have wealth in order to be at the school. And Philip has already been around wealth himself so that won't concern him either. Not like if Micchi were to reveal his entire other life to Team Gaim.]

[He nodded in response to the suggestion. Well, that would make sense. There would be privacy and his house would be where he would learn the most about him. But something was a little strange with that suggestion.]

Attending the other person's home is usually the end of the date night, isn't it? Where one party will invite the other party in for a coffee. Which is then prelude to other physical activity.

[At least that part of it was clearly outlined in some other less conventional research that he had done. Coffee didn't always mean coffee. Which was good because that substance generally made him a little jittery although his reading speed increased.

Then he looked at the situation around them.]

Does this count as an exclusive social activity?

[Micchi shrugs; Philip doesn't need to assume so much from one little invite.]

You can have dates at a person's house; you can watch a movie in the comfort of your own home, or play video games, or invite someone over for dinner rather than go out to a restaurant. Money is an issue for other people, remember. A night in is cheaper than a night out, and more intimate too.

[And Micchi doesn't even mean that in a sexual intimacy way - just that it's much easier to focus on the other person when you're not in public and having your encounter potentially witnessed!

Good that Philip has already come across the double entendre that coffee is. That might come in handy. Micchi glances around when Philip does and looks at him meaningfully.]

Yeah, I guess it does. A "library date". Some people meet up under the pretext of studying together in order to spend time together.

[Okay, so he was making headway here. Philip was finally beginning to understand what this dating thing was about. Maybe. There was so much he didn't understand still and so much ambiguous information out there. It is definitely going to be interesting learning all of this information first hand.

Quite quickly, he gathered up all his books and stacked them into the returns trolley, then packed away his laptop. In just a quick few moments he was ready to get started on the next chapter of his research. Probably the fastest he's moved all day.]

Oh! Why did you come to the library today anyway?

[King of social cues finally realized that he never did ask his friend why he had come all the way to the library and something was beginning to hint at him that maybe he had forgotten something that day.]

[ Ah, it's only taken a couple of hours for Philip to think to wonder why Micchi had even sought him out at the library. That isn't actually his worst time ever, sadly. Micchi gives Philip a long, flat look. ]

We were supposed to meet. After school. I waited for you. Then I came here.

[ Because where else would you be, his tone is totally saying. But if Micchi gets too put out by that they'll never get anywhere with this dating thing. ]

You'll have to make it up to me. On our date.

[There was a pause, like Philip was actually giving proper thought into the fact they were supposed to meet. Like there was some importance placed on that which he may have forgotten. Thought, none of that really shows when he finally answers.]

With flowers or chocolate?

[Since...that's apparently how you apologise to somebody according to those dating guides.]

[ Philip's question is so earnest. He can be trained yet. Micchi turns to walk away, glancing back over his shoulder and smirking. ]

Both. It's not like you can't afford it.

[ Micchi can afford it too, but the point is that it's totally different buying flowers and chocolate for yourself compared to receiving them from someone else! ]

[The next few hours were spent researching. Which chocolates? Which flowers? Is he getting them as an apology for something he did or was he getting them expressly for the date?

There was so much information that he found on this subject and so many differing opinions. Then when Philip finally decided to text his sister for help with the decision the answer he got back was along the lines of My little brother is growing up! Do you have a girlfriend?!. That didn't help so he disregarded his phone.

It was then that he came across a very unique kind of request. A singing telegram. That was it. Something different. Since Micchi was friends with someone like Philip, he liked different right? Well, that was the logic that played through and that was his own small attempt at this date thing that was happening that evening.

Without any hesitation, he puts in an order for a singing telegram. Complete with hand crafted belgium chocolates and a dozen long stemmed red roses. That's what you're supposed to do right? He nods to himself then goes home to change out of his school uniform.

He'll show up at Micchi's house just as the telegram girl finishes her song and takes her leave.]

[ Micchi opens the door to the house himself because he's expecting Philip. Lucky that he did, because if his niisan or one of the staff had opened it to someone carrying red roses, chocolates and a musical instrument and asking for him by name he never would've lived it down.

At least Philip had gotten something right. Micchi takes the bouquet and the chocolates readily enough, looking at the handcrafted label on the chocolates that assures him they came from the best place in town. Perfect, just ideal. A+ for Philip in that respect, even if the roses were a little over the top. It's to be expected Philip would go for something representing the pinnacle of romance.

Singing telegrams, however, are not romantic. At all. They're cheesy and embarrassing. Not to mention the chosen song goes on like they're in some kind of relationship, not just two horny teenage friends where one has to teach the other about sex and dating! Honestly, it couldn't be less cute.

Micchi has a fabulous poker face though, so he keeps his eyes bright and his smile appreciative; it isn't the poor misguided performer's fault that Philip is an idiot. Micchi says thank you to her as she leaves, watching her retreating form go out of the gates before giving Philip a less-than-playful punch in the shoulder. ]

What was that?! [Okay he knows what it was, but-] That seemed like a good idea to you? Urgh, get inside before I change my mind.

[Wait, Micchi hadn't had one of those before? Just before Micchi had started his next sentence, Philip started a short ramble.]

That was a singing telegram. Western Union began offering singing telgrams back in 1933 as a --

[Before he was abruptly cut off by someone who seemed quite displeased by the thoughtfulness of this gift. Philip wasn't sure why. The message boards all showed that it was a humorous event and in fact the people in the videos were all hiding their faces in their hands like they were overwhelmed with great emotion.

Not to be left outside though, Philip entered the mansion and removed his shoes in the entryway. He tipped his head towards Micchi as he changed into the indoor slippers.]

You didn't enjoy my gifts?

[Micchi tucks the box of chocolates and the bouquet under one arm so that he has both hands free to push Philip hurriedly up the stairs towards his bedroom.]

Ssshhh! [He's determined to keep Philip quiet until they're alone and away from prying eyes or ears. Once Micchi has Philip in his bedroom and the door firmly shut he opens his mouth again.]

Where did you read that something like that was appropriate for a first date? It sounded more like we'd been a couple for a long time! Did you even vet the song choice? I really don't need people around here thinking we're dating. [Except that technically Micchi did suggest they date. To get to the fun stuff.] I mean, I don't need people thinking I've been hiding a relationship up until now! Niisan would never get off my case.

[There was a slight moment of confusion as he was pushed up the stairs and then the turned to watch Micchi curiously as he finally started talking again.

When his friend finally stopped talking, he tapped his lower lip with a finger, thinking over the new information.]

Oh! I was unaware that this was a secret rendezvous. In future instances, I can be more discreet.

[As he is assuming there will be future instances.]

The website advised that the song choice would fit all date occasions. As they are a long time business, I believed they would make the correct song choice.

[Well thank god Philip understands how discretion works - Micchi would never have figured from the evidence!]

Look, we're friends, so you being here doesn't have to be a secret. Calling it a date would agitate basically everyone in the place into thinking things are more significant than they are, though, so use your discretion on that bit.

[Because Micchi is fairly sure that Philip will only have a finite amount of subtlty in him before he gets distracted, best to focus it on one area!

Meanwhile, it seems the singing telegram was an honest mistake. Micchi sighs.]

Okay, I get it. It was still ridiculous, but... Well done for trying.
