11. Separation → You were forced to leave this person for their own safety and while you've been miserable without them, you really didn't mean to run into them again... maybe it was by accident or you were watching them from afar this whole time.
12. Prison → You were very bad and now it's time to pay the price by turning yourself in or maybe the law just finally caught up to you.
13. Fear → You're not sure why, but you are suddenly terrified and you can't deal with it. You need help.

4. Costume party → You're at a costume party, both of you are wearing masks. Do you keep the anonymity or take it off and see whose company you've been enjoying?

6. Drunk → You're already drunk! Drunk dialing, stumbling into someone, showing up unexpected... what type of drunk are you anyway? Aggressive, loving, happy? How does the other react?
7. Rivals → you're suddenly rivals! Or maybe you have been all along...
8. Problems → you've got a problem with each other, just got in a huge fight, whatever. Try to work it out!
9. What are your intentions... → This person? They're dating a close friend, family member, etc. You need to find out if they're going to hurt them! Or you need to discuss your friend/family's dating choice.
10. I saw you → you saw the other person doing something bad and you need to confront them about it.
11. Sorry but no → the other person has feelings that you just don't share. They don't necessarily have to be romantic... maybe you just don't agree with their sudden desire to quit their job and start a business making tiny, fuzzy teddy bears.
12. Enabler → you're enabling the other (or each other) to do something bad, really bad. Addiction, stealing, killing, or just any other self-destructive behavior.
13. Cooking → Time for an impromptu cooking lesson!
14. Boss → One of you works under the other. Is your relationship good? Are you scheming things? Or do you hate each other?
15. Perfect crime → You and the other person have just pulled off the perfect crime... or you're planning to! What are you doing? The heist of the century, an assassination?

[There was a pause, like Philip was actually giving proper thought into the fact they were supposed to meet. Like there was some importance placed on that which he may have forgotten. Thought, none of that really shows when he finally answers.]

With flowers or chocolate?

[Since...that's apparently how you apologise to somebody according to those dating guides.]

[ Philip's question is so earnest. He can be trained yet. Micchi turns to walk away, glancing back over his shoulder and smirking. ]

Both. It's not like you can't afford it.

[ Micchi can afford it too, but the point is that it's totally different buying flowers and chocolate for yourself compared to receiving them from someone else! ]

[The next few hours were spent researching. Which chocolates? Which flowers? Is he getting them as an apology for something he did or was he getting them expressly for the date?

There was so much information that he found on this subject and so many differing opinions. Then when Philip finally decided to text his sister for help with the decision the answer he got back was along the lines of My little brother is growing up! Do you have a girlfriend?!. That didn't help so he disregarded his phone.

It was then that he came across a very unique kind of request. A singing telegram. That was it. Something different. Since Micchi was friends with someone like Philip, he liked different right? Well, that was the logic that played through and that was his own small attempt at this date thing that was happening that evening.

Without any hesitation, he puts in an order for a singing telegram. Complete with hand crafted belgium chocolates and a dozen long stemmed red roses. That's what you're supposed to do right? He nods to himself then goes home to change out of his school uniform.

He'll show up at Micchi's house just as the telegram girl finishes her song and takes her leave.]

[ Micchi opens the door to the house himself because he's expecting Philip. Lucky that he did, because if his niisan or one of the staff had opened it to someone carrying red roses, chocolates and a musical instrument and asking for him by name he never would've lived it down.

At least Philip had gotten something right. Micchi takes the bouquet and the chocolates readily enough, looking at the handcrafted label on the chocolates that assures him they came from the best place in town. Perfect, just ideal. A+ for Philip in that respect, even if the roses were a little over the top. It's to be expected Philip would go for something representing the pinnacle of romance.

Singing telegrams, however, are not romantic. At all. They're cheesy and embarrassing. Not to mention the chosen song goes on like they're in some kind of relationship, not just two horny teenage friends where one has to teach the other about sex and dating! Honestly, it couldn't be less cute.

Micchi has a fabulous poker face though, so he keeps his eyes bright and his smile appreciative; it isn't the poor misguided performer's fault that Philip is an idiot. Micchi says thank you to her as she leaves, watching her retreating form go out of the gates before giving Philip a less-than-playful punch in the shoulder. ]

What was that?! [Okay he knows what it was, but-] That seemed like a good idea to you? Urgh, get inside before I change my mind.

[Wait, Micchi hadn't had one of those before? Just before Micchi had started his next sentence, Philip started a short ramble.]

That was a singing telegram. Western Union began offering singing telgrams back in 1933 as a --

[Before he was abruptly cut off by someone who seemed quite displeased by the thoughtfulness of this gift. Philip wasn't sure why. The message boards all showed that it was a humorous event and in fact the people in the videos were all hiding their faces in their hands like they were overwhelmed with great emotion.

Not to be left outside though, Philip entered the mansion and removed his shoes in the entryway. He tipped his head towards Micchi as he changed into the indoor slippers.]

You didn't enjoy my gifts?

[Micchi tucks the box of chocolates and the bouquet under one arm so that he has both hands free to push Philip hurriedly up the stairs towards his bedroom.]

Ssshhh! [He's determined to keep Philip quiet until they're alone and away from prying eyes or ears. Once Micchi has Philip in his bedroom and the door firmly shut he opens his mouth again.]

Where did you read that something like that was appropriate for a first date? It sounded more like we'd been a couple for a long time! Did you even vet the song choice? I really don't need people around here thinking we're dating. [Except that technically Micchi did suggest they date. To get to the fun stuff.] I mean, I don't need people thinking I've been hiding a relationship up until now! Niisan would never get off my case.

[There was a slight moment of confusion as he was pushed up the stairs and then the turned to watch Micchi curiously as he finally started talking again.

When his friend finally stopped talking, he tapped his lower lip with a finger, thinking over the new information.]

Oh! I was unaware that this was a secret rendezvous. In future instances, I can be more discreet.

[As he is assuming there will be future instances.]

The website advised that the song choice would fit all date occasions. As they are a long time business, I believed they would make the correct song choice.

[Well thank god Philip understands how discretion works - Micchi would never have figured from the evidence!]

Look, we're friends, so you being here doesn't have to be a secret. Calling it a date would agitate basically everyone in the place into thinking things are more significant than they are, though, so use your discretion on that bit.

[Because Micchi is fairly sure that Philip will only have a finite amount of subtlty in him before he gets distracted, best to focus it on one area!

Meanwhile, it seems the singing telegram was an honest mistake. Micchi sighs.]

Okay, I get it. It was still ridiculous, but... Well done for trying.

[Oh man he really reluctantly got that last bit out.]

[Well, at least he got some praise out of what he had attempted to do and the childlike smile returns to his face. Not all of social conventions were lost on this boy. Philip does try to do his research after all.

Even though a lot of the research he finds is either outdated or doesn't specifically fit to the situation at hand.]

So I'm here as your friend like the other times I've visited but I'm here not on a date that is date.

[Actually, he wasn't sure if that explanation made any sort of sense. But at least he was trying to understand this particular situation.]

[Urgh Philip, your dumb, innocently happy smile is so cute. And if that explanation makes sense to you then that's good, Micchi is fine with that. ]

Yeah, exactly. We know it's a date but nobody else does. And dating in secret isn't uncommon, so you're still getting a regular experience.

[That should make Philip happy too, right? It won't be an anomaly in regards to data. Micchi sits down on the bed and pats the empty space beside him.]

Sit down. You can tell me which aspects of dating - and sex - you want to research further with me specifically.

[You do have a list, right Philip? ]

[ Well, if he wasn't going to be able to understand all the social cues, he can at least be cute about it. He was going to have to have a further look into this dating in secret business, however. If Micchi has said it, then it was definitely there. It just wasn't something he'd come across much as of yet. ]

Which aspects?

[ Asking for a list was a bit much, don't you think? Where in his organized chaos of research have you ever seen a list? It was just jumping from book to book on the same topic. ]

All of them.

[Maybe Micchi just indulges in 'dating in secret' more than most because he enjoys his privacy as well as the thrill that comes from the possibility of getting caught. That's a kink for Philip to uncover in his research.

And yeah. Whoops. Micchi is an organised list-maker. He forgets that Philip will so no such thing. "All of them" is a very tall order, but Micchi is fairly sure he can handle it!]

Okay, well. A date is a social activity closed to two people, unless you get into double-dates or group dates, which is the same thing but with multiple couples who interact but are there specifically with one other person. I think we did plenty of that at the library, our private chat. We should move onto something people do fairly early on in dating: kissing.

[Yeah, Micchi's impatient and he cannot do an hour or so of "social activity" just to fulfil Philip's quota, okay. He doesn't even own a game console and Philip would get too caught up in it anyway. NO DISTRACTIONS.]

Kissing! I read about that. There's many types of kissing.

[ It might be a better idea for Micchi to actually just dive into this kind of lesson rather than talk about it since that might lead to Philip wanting to research more information. But -- ]

There was a lot to read about this. From the different techniques, the different cultural connotations and what kissing could lead to.

[ If he's allowed to continue much longer he was most likely going to start reciting some of the information he had read that very afternoon. Although the information he has on what kissing could lead to would be quite interesting. ]

Yeah, there are.

[Micchi places his hands on either side of Philip's face to get him to shut up, which he does eventually after another couple of sentences. And then he pushes himself up to reach Philip's forehead and press a kiss to it.] There's the platonic kind, usually to comfort.

[Micchi then kisses Philip's cheek where his hand isn't covering it.] The kind people use as a greeting, sometimes only done in mid-air and not making skin contact at all. [Then Micchi presses his lips to Philip's lips briefly.] The chaste kind, when you're making a romantic gesture but don't want to gross anyone around out, like your family who don't want to think about your sexual experiences--

[And then Micchi touches his mouth to Philip's again, this time parting his lips gently to encourage Philip to open his mouth too, until their mouths can move against one another. And once Philip has the hang of that Micchi makes sure to deepen the kiss, running his tongue along Philip's bottom lip, too.]

[ He's carefully watching the motions that Micchi makes towards him. His eyes glancing over his face and sometimes down over his body to take note of any other movements he might be making. People who know Philip, like Micchi, may also notice the way he creases his eyebrows on and off; a sure fire way of knowing he's taking in all the information presented to him.

The first three kisses don't provoke any reactions. In fact, he was uncertain whether they're really as useful as the definitions provided would suggest but when Micchi's lips make contact for the last example, Philip could feel a stir.

It was a very strange sensation that he didn't understand but he quietly ignored it for now. This was a demonstration and he was going to treat it as such. Although he was going to mimic some of Micchi's actions in response and meet that tongue with his own. ]

[Philip has read that kissing is a mutual action; he makes sure to copy what Micchi is doing with lips and tongue, and Micchi smiles as he breaks away from the slightly extended kiss.]

Good boy. You did well for your first kiss. People are usually a bit hesitant. That's what makes it cute. Now, the best way to get better at it is practice, so you know what's coming and you can anticipate it happily.

[Micchi leans in again, pressing a quick, teasing nip to Philip's mouth that Philip will no doubt be too slow to respond to. Micchi grins, then goes in for another proper kiss, hand reaching around to the back of Philip's head to hold his in place. Micchi's mouth is still mostly pressed to Philip's, breath hot, when he speaks again.]

You should think about what you want to do with your hands. When you're kissing it can feel good to cup someone's face, or the back of their neck, or play with their hair. If we were stood up you could even slide hands down my back, maybe even onto my butt.

[ Surely there should have been a reaction to the, perhaps slightly condescending way that Philip was called a good boy but any significance of that flies right over his head.

Instead, he was about to respond and talk about more of his research when he notes that Micchi has moved forward again and this time the position of his hand has changed. Actually, he was curious about the significance of the hand resting on the back of his head.

Was this a protocol to stop him from escaping? Would he be escaping? There wasn't anything he could recall which would relate to this but instead he's thinking more about the next query which was asked of him. What to do with his hands? Supposedly, it was awkward for him to be here not reciprocating with the rest of his body. ]

That would indicate your erogenous zones would be down your back and on your...butt.

[ Actually he was quite proud of that; using that rather slang term for a body part. ]

[Micchi raises an eyebrow at that, his lips quirking despite himself.]

Erogenous zones? You do work fast, don't you.

[He'd been planning on getting to that, but heck, if Philip wants to go there now--]

Kissing is about more than just what you're doing with your mouth. What you're doing with the rest of your hands can heighten the pleasure, and be a segue into touching the rest of the body. That's what I was leading towards explaining to you. They don't have to be erogenous zones that you touch first! A slow build can be fun, tantalising. Or teasing someone to make them really desperate for more.

Thnat being said, my butt is an erogenous zone, yes.

[And that being said, Micchi helpfully reaches for Philip's hands and brings them around his waist to rest on the part of his butt that can be reached while he's sat down on the bed. He plans to push Philip back against the mattress soon for more making out anyway!]

Fast?

[ He wasn't too sure about that. He was just working accordingly to the information he had previously found. Well, at least the expression on Micchi's face showed that it wasn't a bad thing.

From what Philip could tell anyway. ]

That's interesting. It is just as exhilarating to give than it is to with hold.

[ And with this lesson, his eyes widened as his hands were led right to Micchi's butt. Well, there was no withholding here now, was there? He plays his fingers over and gives a little experimental squeeze. ]

Mmm. Not everyone would aim straight for the erogenous zones on the first date. You have to ask what people want, Philip. Not everyone follows the guidelines set down in books. That's why they're guidelines and not rules. Everyone is different.

[That's what makes them interesting, right? You can think you know everything about people but then someone will go and prove you wrong.

Micchi won't disappoint though, he's willing to put out. Not that Philip is ready to go the whole way yet. He makes an appreciative 'mmmm' noise in the back of his throat as Philip follows the cues and squeezes his butt.

Then he leans in again, more insistently this time to push Philip back, back, back onto the mattress. By pressing his mouth to Philip's again as an indicator, of course. It isn't a smooth kiss by any means, but Micchi is experienced enough not to bump teeth.]

Keep touching it. [He says the words practically against Philip's mouth once they're horizontal.]

[ There were definitely too many variations and not enough of a proper structure to this kind of interaction. It was definitely frustation.

But definitely also intriguing and more to learn. Things become endless when the rules kept changing. Like right now, things were shifting again and he could tell by the movement that he was the one that needs to retreat.

And he does, his eyes widened slightly out of curiosity. How did he have so much experience that he knew how to lead this way? That thought in itself was quite exciting and of course, that meant that Philip's hands were able to roam further.

He spreads his hands just that little more, right around but instead of squeezing, he's lightly running his fingers over the fabric. ]

[It's sure enjoyable having such a willing student hanging on your every word, soaking up the knowledge, not talking. Not that Micchi would mind a two-way conversation, but getting to be in charge like this is definitely his ideal.

He might have to let Philip learn about taking charge from someone else, sometime. Philip can concern himself with that aspect of his own learning later.

For now Micchi concentrates on pressing teasing, soft, sensual kisses to Philip's mouth, repetitively nice, but ultimately unsatisfying. Philip needs the practice of mouths joining and parting though. How to accept a kiss, how to chase a kiss. Meanwhile Micchi is straddled over Philip's waist and able to resist his hips moving while Philip's touch of his butt is so feather-light.

Micchi feeds fingers up into Philip's hair to play with the soft, silky strands as he continues to pepper kisses on Philip's lips.]

[ Laid back on the bed, he watches over Micchi with a careful gaze. Trying to take in and think over his movements. Interestingly enough, he could feel himself responding to some of these actions. A light tingle through his body and a small urge to want to please him and learn more.

His fingers press down a little more firmly, squeezing and then tracing patterns before squeezing again. And he was beginning to enjoy the weight of the body over his.

Although he was curious as to why Micchi kept pulling away with each kiss and in the later stages, attempts to catch one of his lips with his own to stop him from pulling away quite so soon. ]

[Oh! Clever initiative. Micchi smiles right into the kiss as Philip claims his mouth, silently requesting that they not part, not stop kissing yet. Micchi definitely has to let him have that when he's being so resourceful. This was intended to be a learning experience after all.

Micchi moves his mouth slow and endless against Philip's mouth until he thinks Philip is running out of breath, then pulls away.]

Well done, that was good. [He runs a hand through his hair to push it back out of his face.] You figured out what you wanted and you went for it. Good initiative.

[ He was smart enough to string all the book knowledge together after all. As long as there was some logic behind it, he was going to be able to make it all work. That whole grey area that's affected by emotions and less logical things, now that was going to be a little more difficult. ]

Initiative and being pro active are some of the allures of this type of foreplay. Although there were some physical triggers that I hadn't expected.

[ Some physical reactions that he had read about but hadn't really thought about applying to his own self. Particularly in the case of a friend and someone of the same gender. There was less literature about this aspect after all. ]
