1. Bar brawl → You had one too many drinks, said something wrong, and now you're being asked to take it outside.

4. Threaten → You've just been sent here to rough them up a little, threaten them into behaving.
5. Interrogation → You're being interrogated for some offense you've done.
6. Aliens → Aliens are attacking and you're not going to take your probe laying down!
7. Final battle → This is it. The battle that will end all the fighting for you. Will you win? Will you get that peace you want?

13. Cooking → Time for an impromptu cooking lesson!

[He tilts his head down so he can press his cheek against the top of his brother's head like he used to. His fingers curl into Mitsuzane's shirt, holding him protectively. He doesn't want his brother to hurt. Takatora doesn't want to be hurt either.]

... I know. I should have. I assumed. I assumed too much, that what I had planned for you was something you wanted or at least wouldn't mind. I was wrong. And that is why I apologized.

[ Niisan is warm. He's been at such a distance all these years somehow Micchi assumed his embrace would feel cold, but he's so gentle it's like he thinks Micchi would be hurt if he squeezed too hard.

Or he's trying not to make the same mistake physically as he did mentally: he held too tight. ]

I didn't tell you otherwise; I didn't help the situation. I let you think everything was alright. At first because I didn't want to let you down. [Micchi slips an arm around Takatora's waist. Niisan even being able to stand touching him is a miracle after everything that has happened.] But then I got angry. I felt like you surely knew how miserable I was and were just ignoring it. Which was stupid; I was stupid to let myself think it. But it took the blame off of me, so I convinced myself that was how things were.

[Micchi's problem has always been not taking the blame for his own actions, his mistakes.]

I'm sorry for that, niisan. And... everything. I'm more than sorry for everything else.

[He hesitates as his brother puts an arm around him. It's slow, but it's progress. It's something. They're both trying to feel each other out, aren't they? ... At least... they have this much.]

Mitsuzane...

[He presses a gentle kiss to the top of his brother's head, trying to keep his emotions in check. He has to, if only for his brother's sake.]

If I had realized... with how things were going, I'm not sure... what I could have changed. But I could have tried. I was blind. I was blind to how much you were hurting, and I never want you to have to feel that hurt again. I know that feeling hurt is inevitable... but I promise that I will at least do my best to help you through it from now on. I swear, Mitsuzane.

... I will be with you... for as long as you wish for me to be.

[As awkward as it kind of is, this closeness actually feels good? Micchi files that thought away into his subconscious.]

I will... [Micchi looks at a random spot on his pants for a good long while before finishing his sentence. At least niisan is patient and willing to let him finish.] Let you?

[Micchi's a great liar, no trouble at all, but this is hard because it has to be true. He has to say it and mean it! No more lying to niisan, not anymore. Not for the 'greater good' or whatever he thinks. Micchi can't trust his own judgement anymore, after all!]

It's just so hard, niisan. Letting someone in. Letting them see your vulnerablities. I never wanted anyone to try and take advantage of me.

[Look how well that worked, Micchi thinking he was so clever that even Sengoku Ryoma couldn't play him. He laughs bitterly at himself.]

... I know. I tried to do that, but... well.

[He'd played both of them. So many people had played him, and he'd been so blind. Even Mitsuzane had done it.]

I can't say I have much... experience in that, either. I used to be better at it, but then... I shut down. I suppose maybe it was too late by then.

[The closeness is a little awkward, but... Mitsuzane seems to be all right with it, so he'll keep going for now.]

I... need you to try to be honest with me from now on, and I'll do the same. No more secrets. No more hiding, Mitsuzane. Not from each other. I think... we will need to help keep each other from... doing something regretful.

... It's not as if this is easy for me, either.

[This is getting to be too much to talk about, Micchi doesn't like it. Admitting to himself that he knows niisan never lets anyone get close to him these days either, not after the way he was betrayed... He has far more reason not to trust than Micchi does. Micchi was the betrayer, not the betrayed.

How can niisan bear to be near him, let alone hold him like this?

It's not as if this is easy for me, either. Micchi bristles at those words. As if he could forget!]

It can't be easy for niisan. [Micchi fixes his eyes straight ahead on the TV, staring but not seeing anything on the screen.] He has to spend every day with the person he trusted, the person who nearly got him killed, more than once. And not just be near him, but help him, and care for him, and apologise to him. How can you stand it? [Micchi blinks hard to hold back tears.] How can you stand me?

[It's a good question, and the answer is something he can't quite put into words. It's a little difficult to try, but he has to, for Mitsuzane's sake.]

Because you are my brother.

[His grip tightens briefly, holding him close, before he reaches up to brush the back of his brother's hair. He remembers doing this as a child.. hopefully it will help.]

Because as much as you have the capability to do terrible things, I believe that the path that leads to them is not the only path you can take. Because I believe... that you can do better. That you are better.

[Isn't that what Kazuraba Kouta had tried to tell him - that there was always hope? That even in the face of unspeakable tragedy, people could act better than they had before? That there was a better path than the one of death and tragedy?]

Because you are my brother, and I will always care about you.

[Because they're brothers? Micchi doesn't understand that at first; he opens his mouth to protest as much, and then he stops.

Isn't that part of what hurt him so much in the first place? He'd told himself it was the way everyone became completely enamoured with niisan after meeting him, because his pure heart and desire to help the entire world shine out of him. Micchi couldn't compare to that, and so he'd gotten jealous and bitter. But Micchi is well aware that nobody can resist how good niisan is. He'd actually been upset that everyone had wanted a piece of Takatora. Of his niisan. He's nobody else's brother, only Micchi's!

So perhaps he does understand how it feels to make that claim of kinship. A little. It means nobody else understands how it felt to have grown up as a Kureshima. Nobody else pushed you on swings, helped you up when you fell, dried your eyes with the pocket square they'd had even when they were a pre-teen.

Micchi blinks, feeling hair tickling his nose and realises that while he's been processing all this at some point he'd flung his arms around niisan's neck, burying his face against niisan's shoulder. He can't agree right now that he believes he's capable of better, but he can cling tight and will it to be true.]

[He's a little surprised at the sudden clinging, but he's not going to push him away. Never again. If this is what Mitsuzane needs, it's fine. He lets out a slow breath, moving his hand down to rub his brother's back in small circles. Mitsuzane... needs him. And... he needs Mitsuzane. Hadn't he done so much to try to save his brother? To help him? To keep him safe? And then at the end, when it was clear Mitsuzane's path was the wrong one... he'd only wanted to save his brother from making even worse decisions.]

[Perhaps he'd only wanted to save the memory of the brother who may have never been a reality.]

I am here, Mitsuzane. For as long as you can stand me. For as long as you need me. For as long as you want me.

[There's something about those words. Such permanence, and intensity. They make sense when niisan says them; they're brothers, they're family, and they will always have one another as long as they wish it. But something squeezes inside Micchi's stomach when niisan says, "as long as you want me". Not because of how he says it, but because of how Micchi feels when he hears it.

Not so innocent as niisan is implying.

Micchi pulls back a little, so that he can look Takatora right in the eyes. For a minute he searches, but he can't read niisan, beyond the fact that he means everything he says. But does he mean it like that?

Micchi leans in as he speaks, so that every word he says comes out closer and closer to Takatora's mouth.]

I do want you, niisan. [Okay, maybe that could be plausibly denied if necessary. Micchi widens his eyes a little, curiosity getting the better of him.] Do you want me, too?

[He's not sure what's going on, only that something is twisting inside of him at that look, at that closeness. Surely it can't mean what he think it does, does it?]

[... No. That would be ridiculous. Childhood closeness only goes so far. It's improper, and not good for either of them. How many times has he told himself that? Too many to count. Too many nights of feeling awful at his thoughts and desires. He'd never had time to examine those feelings, only shut them away. But now... now there's time. And he doesn't know how he feels about them.]

Mitsuzane... of course I do. I will never abandon you, no matter what.

[It's probably true; Micchi almost killed his niisan and still he's here with Micchi, caring for him even so. Micchi should probably stop to think about how much of an example that is of the dysfunctional relationship that they have, but he can't snap out of his own selfish habits and desires so easily. Right now he wants to claim Takatora for his own, before somebody else new comes on the scene and tries to take him away again.

They're brothers; that bond is special and nobody else can understand who they are or what they've been through. Isn't that what he keeps reminding himself? Nobody else can understand, nobody else knows niisan like he does.]

Do you- [Micchi presses his forehead gently to Takatora's before taking the plunge and lining his mouth up with his niisan's.] -want me like this?

[Micchi presses his mouth to Takatora's, lips slightly parted even though he doesn't push for a more intense kiss. Just enough to know this is decidely not chaste.

He isn't even scared that niisan will push him off in disgust; niisan will make excuses and try to let him down gently long before he'd do something so violent towards his own younger brother.]

[The kiss catches him off-guard. He wants to push Mitsuzane away, wants to hold him and make him understand that this is not acceptable. They're brothers. They're family. Putting aside even that, there's a ten year age gap. And even on top of that, the power imbalance is just too much.]

[And yet...]

[And yet he can feel his skin flushing, his body going painfully warm all over, his hands moving to hold Mitsuzane less protectively and more supporting him. He screams at himself to stop, to let go, to run away, but he can't. He's too weak to even do what's right here.]

[And he's aware, painfully aware of how Mitsuzane has grown into an attractive young man. So he doesn't resist, but kisses back briefly before pulling away, turning his head. His cheeks burn in shame.]

Mitsuzane, I...

[Oh no, Micchi knows what is coming. Niisan, so honourable, so noble, so pure. He's going to stammer and stumble over his words to try and find a way to say they can't do this.

That's unacceptable. It's about time niisan let someone else take care of him. Micchi can definitely do that much.]

Ssshhh. [Micchi lays two fingers over Takatora's lips.] Don't think about it, niisan. Just feel. Do what you want to do.

[Not what you should, or what would be right. Micchi sucks his bottom lip into his mouth to relish the feeling of having had niisan's lips on his. Just accept the pretty bundle who is willingly in your arms, niisan.]

[He nearly jerks back at the touch to his lips. Mitsuzane... wants this. He can't deny that he wants it, too. But he shouldn't. He can't. But... it would make Mitsuzane happy. It would make him happy too, under the layers of guilt and shame.]

[His mind is saying no, but his heart is saying yes. And he'll do his best to keep it gentle, if this is what Mitsuzane wants. He can't just do what he wants. What's in his deeper desires would only hurt his brother. But the simpler ones... maybe. He brings one hand up to rest at the base of Mitsuzane's neck, tilting his head so he can capture his brother's lips in a deeper kiss.]

[He wants this, and he's ashamed, but he wants it badly enough that he has to hold back a bit. He won't touch where Mitsuzane doesn't want him to, but he's already demonstrated that he likes kissing... so he can do that.]

[Micchi murmurs happily into the kiss as he enjoys the realisation that niisan hadn't taken that much convincing at all. He must want this as much as Micchi does. Micchi can use that knowledge.

He opens up his mouth beneath Takatora's, silently offering his niisan the opportunity to take even more control of the kiss. That's what niisan likes, that's what he's comfortable with. Niisan takes charge and handles things himself.

And if that gets Micchi what he wants then he can play submissive. But they'll still be doing this the way Micchi wants.

When they part for breath again Micchi can't help touching; he can touch now, in a newly intimate way. This time he strokes his thumb over niisan's lips, a little wet from kissing.]

You're good at that, niisan.

[There's still shame burning at his cheeks, but Mitsuzane's touch feels too good. There's a lump in his throat as he swallows, looking Mitsuzane over with a more... intimate eye.]

Ah... I've had some practice.

[With who, or for how long, he doesn't need to say. That person doesn't need to enter into this situation, ever. He's not sure what to do, not sure how far Mitsuzane wants to push it... so he leans in near his brother's ear, surrendering himself to his feelings. He can deal with guilt later. He will, no matter how this plays out. But he wants Mitsuzane to feel good, to feel loved... to know that Takatora won't leave him.]

Tell me what you want me to do, Mitsuzane.

[... And maybe he gets off a little on being ordered around. Maybe that, too.]

[Well, it would be stupid to think niisan hadn't had any experience, looking the way he does. He's always been one of the most eligible bachelors around, thanks to the Kureshima name and wealth, let alone the pleasing face and body he has. And that's before you discover his endearing personality. And Micchi even knows one person niisan has had experience with; the sexual tension had always been palpable. Not to mention Sengoku Ryoma had enjoying rubbing the situation in Micchi's face, even when he himself hadn't wanted Takatora that way anymore.

Micchi is never going to discard niisan like that. Not if he can have niisan like this. If he can have this he's keeping it.

He shudders when niisan speaks right into his ear; mostly because of how the closeness of it feels so intimate, only for the two of them. This is a secret that shouldn't be shared.]

Touch me, niisan. [Micchi places his hands on Takatora's arms, just above the elbows, and runs them all the way down to niisan's hands embracing him. He takes hold of them to slide them part-way around to the front, and then up his sides a little.] Anywhere you like. Everywhere. I want to be yours.

[And in turn have you be all mine.]

[He doesn't resist when Mitsuzane moves his hands, and nods. This is something... just for them. The two of them together... no one else will know. He curls his fingers in Mitsuzane's shirt, before gently tugging to pull it out from his pants. He slides a hand underneath, stroking the smooth skin of his brother's stomach... then his chest, keeping his touch light.]

We are each other's. Mitsuzane...

[This isn't right. This shouldn't be happening. But it is, and how long has it been since he felt okay enough to do this? So much mourning... so much regret... so many things put on his shoulders that sometimes he wishes he could set aside. How long has it been since he allowed himself to feel lust? He can deal with everything else later.]

[He presses his lips against his brother's throat, trailing kisses along it towards his collar. He whispers his brother's name, reverent like a prayer.]

[Micchi's torso isn't usually so sensitive, but it's niisan touching him - finally! - and so every place Takatora's fingertips touch feels electric, and Micchi is suddenly lightly shivering, arching into the touch a little where he sits.

And then Takatora's mouth is on his neck and Micchi's eyes fall shut. Something that could be a pleasured whimper or a moan escapes his mouth, and he wraps his arms around Takatora's neck. He keeps hearing his name, and the tone says, "you're special, you're so special".]

Niisan, please.

[Micchi doesn't know what he's asking for, but maybe niisan will. Just... This. ]

[He trails down his brother's sides with his fingertips, his touch light, before tugging him so his brother can straddle him. The movie plays on in the background, forgotten, and classical music fills the room. He pulls one hand out so he can press it into his brother's hair, stroking it gently.]

Mitsuzane, I... ah... my shirt. You can... unbutton it, if you'd like...

[If he just wants to be the one touched, that's fine. He tilts his head back for a moment, exposing his neck, his windpipe, his jugular. Precious, sensitive parts of him where someone striking could do a lot of damage.]

[I trust you, the motion says, even if I shouldn't.]

[Micchi feels perfectly comfortable astride his niisan; it doesn't feel at all exposed, it feels more like he's offering Takatora all of himself, which is just how Micchi likes it. As it means he's in a great position for doing just as suggested and unbuttoning niisan's shirt. Micchi can't rememeber the last time he saw Takatora's body. Maybe if niisan ever took the time to relax and go to the onsen they'd have had more casual nudity between them, but he's a workaholic.

Micchi knows what's beneath his clothes is fit and toned; it has to be when niisan is such a capable fighter ~~and wore such tight battle gear~~. He places his hands palms down on Takatora's collarbone, considering his bare throat before sliding his hands down, following niisan's shirt collar down to where the buttons are fastened. He doesn't hesitate over beginning to undo it, slipping his fingers in as a button pops, both to part the shirt and to touch niisan's chest.]

Is this good, niisan?

[It's hard to suppress a shiver as his brother touches so close to his neck, and it takes him a brief moment to realize his brother is addressing him.]

Yes... you can touch wherever you want, Mitsuzane.

[As the shirt is parted, the ugly scar on his shoulder becomes visible. He swallows hard, pressing his face against his brother's shoulder in a strange reversal of their previous position. It's difficult to let people see it, to see the scarring on what he's told is an otherwise perfect body. The years of failures, of mistakes, all written on his shoulder in a single catastrophic incident.]

It's... it's all right... if you want to touch... anything...

Niisan...

[This is... Oh, this is a big deal. Micchi knows he didn't cause that scar. There's no guilt involved in seeing it, reminding him of what he did to his own brother. And no revulsion at the same thing! That would only at his own actions, never at niisan's body. It's perfect as it is. Scar and all.

Micchi isn't sure how niisan will respond to hearing that spoken out loud, so he simply leans in and gently presses his lips to the flawed skin. He can still feel Takatora's face nestled into the crook of his neck. He keeps his mouth on niisan's skin and murmurs into his shoulder.]

This is from testing the Drivers, isn't it? [He has a lot of time to learn about everything that happened.] To make everyone safe... You wanted to protect the entire world. It's a badge of honour, niisan.

[He shivers at the touch. It's old enough that it doesn't hurt anymore, but it's still strange to have someone touch it, and especially kiss it. He nods at the question, allowing his breath to rush out of him in a single long sigh.]

It... went badly. We miscalculated. That's why Zangetsu Shin had the shoulder protector.

[But that's... enough about that. He presses his lips against his brother's neck, moving them smoothly up to Mitsuzane's jaw and then his lips again as he gently nudges him away from the scar and his shoulder. He doesn't want to talk about it, he doesn't want to think about it, doesn't want to have his mind on what was involved. He just wants this moment with his brother. Is that too much to ask?]
