Tarr had been shocked at the changes, at the strangeness of vampirism; it was a European thing this type of creature, isolated until trading by ships grew popular. But after a year of the forced servitude, he dug into his stubborn nature and broke free of his maker.

Now he saw a similar stubbornness in Jin. Not only that, but could taste the bond as it twisted and broke strand by strand. He draped his arm over Jin's shoulder to give him added support as well as a physical anchor.]
